Artificial Lighting System

Artificial Lighting System

MST Holland designs and implements high-efficiency artificial lighting systems to ensure sustainable plant growth in modern greenhouse projects all year round.

The annual light exposure data of the greenhouse location is carefully analyzed, and the additional lighting requirements are determined according to the plant type. Based on these analyses, the most suitable lighting scenario is created to support optimum plant growth during periods of insufficient natural light.

Thanks to this project-based engineering approach, ideal light intensity and duration are achieved, ensuring continuous production and maximum yield.

Lighting Technologies Used

MST Holland integrates different lighting technologies according to project requirements:

  • Full LED systems
  • Full HPS (High Pressure Sodium) systems
  • Hybrid systems (LED + HPS)
  • Interlighting solutions (intra-canopy lighting)
  • DIM (dimmable) LED technologies
  • Spectrum control systems

Each system is engineered according to the greenhouse structure. The lighting fixtures are carefully selected based on high efficiency, long lifespan, homogeneous light distribution, and durability under greenhouse conditions.

Cogeneration (CHP) Systems

Energy cost is one of the most important factors in artificial lighting systems. To improve energy efficiency and reduce operational costs, MST Holland installs cogeneration (CHP) systems.

Thanks to cogeneration systems:

  • Electricity is generated on-site
  • Dependence on the power grid is reduced
  • Energy costs are minimized
  • Continuous and reliable power supply is ensured

These systems provide a more economical and sustainable solution for meeting the greenhouse’s energy demands, especially for lighting applications.

Cogeneration System Services

  • Indoor systems
  • Outdoor systems
  • Installation and assembly
  • Commissioning and optimization

Frequently Asked Questions
This depends on the project requirements and plant type. LED, HPS, or hybrid systems are selected according to the specific needs of the greenhouse and production goals.
It may directly increase energy consumption; however, energy costs are optimized through the cogeneration solutions offered by MST Holland.
Interlighting refers to intra-canopy lighting. It provides light to the lower and middle parts of the plant, enabling more homogeneous and balanced plant growth.
